Colorado's Million Dollar Highway is arguably one of the most beautiful - and frightening - stretches of roadway in the United States. The part of US 550 between Silverton and Ouray, it follows the Umcompagre River through the mountains and over Red Mountain Pass. It features switchbacks that will let you check your own tail lights, and thousand foot drop-offs with no guard rails.
A recent trip report on rv.net featured this picture, proving the writer shares my own warped sense of humor.
