As I posted back in early February, my old laptop is on its last legs, and I had the guy who repaired it last time on the lookout for something better.
Thought we had one yesterday, an HP that he had taken in trade and looked -on paper anyway - like a step up. I picked it up yesterday and spent a few hours last night loading programs, applications, email addresses, etc. before finally admitting that it was a bust. I know that updates running in the background can slow things down to a crawl, but this is way beyond that, so it's back to the drawing board.
Meanwhile, the old Toshiba is still working OK with the remote monitor.
