In a story I posted back in January, I expressed my opinion about the stupidity of the Houston Independent School District – about forcing the renaming of first school mascots and now the names of schools that had stood for generations.
At the time, my Alma Mater, John H Reagan High School, had escaped the axe, but this past week – in a 4 to 3 decision – the HISD School Board added it to the list of schools whose name must change.
Their logic – assuming they are capable of logic – seems to be that history and tradition are of no value at all if somebody, anybody, somewhere, might be offended or disturbed.
