Even if you've never been arrested, I'm sure you've heard the "Miranda Warning" dozens of times on TV police dramas - the one that begins "You have the right to remain silent."
I wish that more folks would understand that this also applies to Freedom of Speech.
The 1st Amendment gives you the Right to express any opinion, no matter how misguided it might be.
It gives you the Right to be wrong, to be ridiculous, to be stupid.
It gives you the Right to be a complete and total jerk.
What it does not do is give you the Obligation.
