For the past week, weather prognosticators had been predicting heavy thunderstorms with rainfall totals of up to 11 inches.
Honey was sure we were going to flood again, and nothing I could say could keep her from worrying. When Beaumont/Port Arthur area got over 10 inches on Thursday - two days earlier that the deluge the weathermen were forecasting - I tried to reassure her, but she said that if we did flood she would never believe anything I told her again.
The predicted front passed through early this morning and everything here is fine. Our three day rainfall total was probably less than two inches.
