After 24 years as Jazz Bear, the Utah Jazz mascot, John Absey has been fired...

The team is not saying why, and an Absey post implies he quit.  In any case, there will be a new person inside the bear suit from now on.

When I was a child, I always thought

I would grow up to be an astronaut

(Or a cowboy or fireman)

In all my childish dreams, I swear

There was never a thought of becoming a bear

Now that I’ve been fired, I can honestly say

It wasn’t my dream job, anyway
