San Jacinto – Battleship Texas

The grandsons are in town on spring break.  We picked them up yesterday and headed for the San Jacinto Battleground State Historical Site where we toured the Monument and the Battleship Texas.

monumentThe monument shaft is 570 feet tall, and the 34 foot high star on top makes it the tallest stone column memorial in the world – 15 feet taller than the Washington Monument.
