In my memory, it stands out as one of the best - certainly most unusual - films I've ever seen. Spencer Tracy was nominated for Best Actor at the 1955 Oscars, he didn't win, but did pick up Best Actor at the Cannes Movie Festival.
55 was a year with a lot of great movies - Marty, Mr. Roberts, Rebel Without a Cause, East of Eden, Man With a Golden Arm and Picnic to name a few.
